For adults and adolescents

Therapy is a personal process, and my interventions will be specific to you and your needs. I treat a variety of issues including:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Eating Disorders

  • Panic Disorder​

  • OCD​

  • Agoraphobia

  • Specific Phobias including Emetophobia 

 

In the individual therapy process, you and I will discuss problems occurring in the present. We will talk about where these problems stem from, how to prevent these triggers, and how to get through the feelings when they do arise. I teach both cognitive re-framing skills as well as physical interventions, like deep-breathing and muscle relaxation. If needed, I am able to meet with a family member or loved one to help you increase communication so they can better support you. I use a number of modalities including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Exposure and Response Prevention

     

 I am highly experienced in working with children ages 11-18. I have helped many kids to stop cutting, work through issues of bullying, go through trauma, and increase their ability to talk about trust others. I also meet with parents/caregivers to discuss different parenting techniques to decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, or trauma. 
 

As a specialized trauma therapist, I know how to help you to heal from what's happened to you and help you to regain your trust in yourself. Treatment is as personal as each individual client. But, I will always work with you in a collaborative way. Treatment modalities I've been trained in for trauma therapy include:

• Trauma Focused CBT

• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

• Internal Family Systems

• Neural Desensitization and Integration

• Exposure and Response Prevention Treatment

I work with clients who are struggling with estrangement from family members. If you are struggling to make decisions about going low-contact, or no-contact with a family member, I can help to coach you through this process. I have experience in helping parents talk to kids about their changed relationship with grandparents, as well as helping adult children to increase their understanding and acceptance of this decision. Lastly, we can talk about increasing personal supports and finding healthy community
